Solid point regarding the lack of creativity and gumption in the toy production arena these days. I'm an enormous 80s/ early 90s toy enthusiast, particularly monsters/creatures and the 'gross out' genre of toys that were so popular during these decades. I recognize Ol' Blue Eyes from my past. A neighborhood friend of mine had it. On numerous occasion I tried to persuade him to trade it to me for various other toys. He wouldn't part with it. I can't say I blame him. I wouldn't have. Neither one of us knew the name of the series let alone the name of the character. What a great design. A single piece of durable rubber/plastic. Ideal for display and longevity. Anyway, for the past 25 + years I've wondered about that line of toys, but have never come across them again. Its great to see it no and to gain more insight into the toy line. Thanks for the post.

You hit the nail on the head. It's great seeing TMNT, Lego, and Star Wars still thriving, but I do miss the weird stuff. Everyone plays it safe.

Great read! You've got my mind in monster-mode now.
